Best Films of 2009

In conjunction with the Playlist's announcement of his favorite films of the year, I guess I'll do mine. Don't expect this list to stay the way it is. I probably will see something I love from 2009, and put it in here. But here it is.

1. The Secret in Their Eyes (El Secreto de Sus Ojos)
2. Tyson
3. Sita Sings the Blues
4. A Serious Man
5. The Hurt Locker
6. Julia
7. Fantastic Mr. Fox
8. Where the Wild Things Are
9. I Love You, Man
10. Goodbye Solo

Tokyo Sonata would be in slot 6 if it had not been released before 2008's Oscar cutoff date (which is the rule I play by).

Glad to see Sita and Wild Things on your list.

My favourite part of Wild Things was when Max was playing with snowballs in his hut, and I cried when he left the island.

I haven't seen any of these except I Love You, Man, which was a funny movie. I see many here I *want* to see though, including The Hurt Locker, Julia (I saw part of it, and I was thoroughly impressed with Tilda Swinton's performance), Wild Things and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

I saw Tyson as a trailer, and was very overwhelmed by it.

(I may yet see it on DVD).

Have seen Fantastic Mr Fox, early this year. (All right, it was a fortnight ago!)
